Mecarini: “This year transport will not pass through Viale Marconi”
The president of the Santa Rosa Porters Association explained why the classic route will be opted for

VITERBO – In recent years the transport of the Macchina di Santa Rosa, in fits and starts in the various editions, has lengthened the route with the passage through Via Marconi and the stop in Piazza Martiri d’Unità. These were exceptional transports motivated by anniversaries, such as recognition as an “Intangible Heritage of Humanity”.
There were rumors in the city that the transport from the “Shrine” would also be possible on September 3rd. But it won’t be like that. To announce it Massimo Mecarinipresident of the Santa Rosa Porters Association.
“The route will not be lengthened. Because this year will be the first release of the new machine, Dies Natalis, – explains Mecarini – and the first transports of the new machines are always the most delicate. On July 7th we will test the truss. We will test it on the stretch of Corso Italia and Via Roma, from Piazza del Plebiscito to Piazza del Teatro. This is because Dies Natalis is different from previous machines and we want to test the space required in the narrowest sections.”
In the meantime, as told by the president, the construction of Dies Natalis it proceeds quickly. “The first parts are being assembled these days. In the next few weeks we will discuss the construction process with the press.”
