Shirts removed from Crotone players after elimination: the Federal Prosecutor’s Office investigates

CROTONE – Clarify the gesture of the Crotone players who, at the end of the match against Picerno, which they lost 2-0, took off their shirts ‘obeying’ the request of the fans who were protesting for the terrible performance. This is what the Lega Pro sports judge, Cosimo Taiuti, asks the Federal Prosecutor’s Office to do after reading the report on what happened on May 7th at the end of the first round of the play offs.
The facts described in the report of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office itself, according to the sports judge “appear worthy of further investigation in relation to the behavior of the supporters of the Crotone club as well as of the Slo (the head of the fans appointed by the clubs, ed) and by the players of the same club”.
For this reason the judge “invites the Federal Prosecutor’s Office to carry out further investigative investigations by listening to the SLO of the Crotone club and, after identifying them, the players who took off their shirts. It also invites the Federal Prosecutor’s Office to carry out all further and possible investigations useful for the precise reconstruction of the facts”.
As will be remembered at the end of the match which sealed the elimination from the play offs, the Crotone players went towards the away sector of the Picerno stadium where the fans asked them to take off their shirts as they were “not worthy of wearing them” after yet another terrible performance of the season. Everyone took off their shirts and left them on the lawn. Only Tumminello had made some remonstrances before taking off his jacket, but then he was also convinced by some companions to take it off.
