“For International Nurses Day, we wanted to create a real health village – commented the president of the Palermo Order of Nurses, Antonino Amato – in which on the one hand it is possible to undergo diagnostic tests and specialist visits, on the other, carry out physical activity. We have chosen ‘let’s nourish health’ as our slogan, convinced as we are that prevention has two main lines, one purely health-related and one of psycho-physical well-being. For this to be achieved, it is essential that healthcare in the area is supported with concrete actions, with essential figures such as the family and community nurse. Let us return to asking the institutions and political forces to implement this change of direction in the healthcare system in Sicily, with the valorisation and support of hospital structures together with the strengthening of local healthcare through specialist figures”.

At the Opi Palermo Health Village there will be many young students of the Nursing degree course and many new nurses, “who represent the future of the profession, which passes through advanced and innovative skills. Nurses are ready to face the challenge of change, the hope is that our interlocutors are also ready, starting from the institutions and the political class”.
