Trento, beats his partner and newborn: removed from home

Recent news episodes have taught us this well: when a woman feels in danger, threatened by her violent partner (or acquaintance), quick intervention can make the difference. A few days were enough for the Trento police station to intervene and report a case which, having reached the table of the preliminary investigation judge, led to the removal of a 37-year-old man. He, a healthcare worker of Colombian origin, resident in Trento, had attacked his slightly younger partner on several occasions, also jeopardizing the safety of his newborn son, just nine months old. The most serious episode dates back to the end of April. On that occasion, the man flew into a rage, slapping and punching his partner. The woman ended up on the ground, he dragged her by her hair: all while she was holding the newborn in her arms. An outburst that culminated in a jealous scene, in which she threw cutlery and crockery in the air. Then he snatched her cell phone from her hand: to check suspicious messages from her and ordered her not to see anyone again. It was her straw that broke the camel’s back. In fact, the violence has been repeated since 2022. That year, in the summer, during another argument, she had attacked her by making her hit her head on her bidet. Finally, two episodes occurred last winter: one day, following a quarrel that broke out for a trivial reason (he was supposed to accompany her to her work) she had, in that case too, thrown her to the ground and dragged her by the her hair. Then, one evening, the violent partner had returned home late at night: from a work commitment, he had said. In reality – the police officers found out – he had returned from a party, completely drunk: in that case too there had been a physical and verbal attack. The acts of violence, in fact, were “seasoned” with insults ranging from “being useless” to “parasite”, with other unrepeatable words. A distillation of hatred that did not even spare stalking: the 37-year-old always wanted to know where the woman was, who she was seeing and stalked her using cell phone apps. On Tuesday, the expulsion order for the OSS, investigated for mistreatment: he will have to maintain a distance of 200 meters from the woman and the child, who was slightly injured. Mother and son were hosted in a safe house. In case of violation, the man risks the electronic bracelet.
