The intimate and welcoming pen of Nico Arezzo gives us, Friday May 17th his debut album “There is no sea” (Artist First). The singer-songwriter from Ragusa, adopted by Bologna, among the finalists of Musicultura 2024, collects, writes and produces 13 precious songs, the result of years of experimentation both on stage and in life.

There are no games behind it, no strategies, all the featuring and collaborators around the album are my friends. “There is no sea” is distance and also a very stupid play on words. It starts from Bologna and ends in Sicily. From drinking out with kids, to the girl who hates scales, to a relationship balanced on a toothbrush, to bad choices, to buying a house, to sex, to communicating, to not understanding each other, to tears, to cheekbones, to the sea , At home. The warm and funky sound of Nico Arezzo it not only contains the carefreeness of his years but also the silence and distance from the sea, his home, which he manages to rediscover at the end of his journey, in the place from which he started. Maybe for this reason Nico Arezzo he made a point of recording the tracks of these songs in Sicily, calling musicians and friends from all over Italy to his side, to make them converge in the place of his heart.
ORGANIC
Nico Arezzo he grew up on stages as a sound engineer, cable collector, lighting technician, drummer, finally evolving into his true nature, that of a singer-songwriter. In 2017 he participated in the Festival Show with his first unpublished work, winning the first prize, which was collected at the Verona Arena. In the same year he was among the top 5 under men in Italy on the X Factor.
A few years later, in 2019, he is among the 6 emerging artists of Sanremo Giovani with the song “Volo”. In 2020 he published “Gorilla”, followed by “Polline”, “Il mio vero nome”, “Fossi nato gemini”, “Casa nuova” and finally “Spazzolino”, presented this year at Musicultura (exhibition link), together with song “Nicareddu”.
In recent years, in addition to holding numerous concerts around Italy with different ensembles, he collected, wrote, arranged, cooked and recorded his first debut album, “There is no sea” out everywhere May 17th.
