Regional contributions for Uniesco Municipalities are arriving. The decree was issued yesterday by the Regional Department of Local Autonomy which provides for the distribution of the overall sum of €2,500,000.00 to be assigned as a share of the regional current transfers for the year 2024. This is a share that it will be assigned to the Municipalities in which there are UNESCO sites and to those whose territories are part of the UNESCO geoparks. In the Province of Ragusa there are three cities that will benefit from economic aid: Ragusa (Euro 57,050.52), Modica (Euro 48,647.13) and Scicli (Euro 37,443.89).

THE FUNDS

The municipalities involved will receive the resources intended for regeneration, decoration and all those works for the redevelopment of the urban fabric on which the seven Sicilian sites stand.

The sums will be divided into equal parts by 60% and the remaining 40% based on the resident population and will be used for intervention and maintenance works not necessarily linked to the UNESCO monument but still functional to its enjoyment.
