In the territory of Sassari, Nuoro, Turin and Genoa, the Nas carabinieri with the overall use of over 100 specialized soldiers of the Carabinieri, as part of a complex investigation activity coordinated by the Sassari Prosecutor’s Office, carried out searches today house and personal orders against 22 suspects for complicity in the illicit trade and administration of anabolic substances and drugs with narcotic action, intended for body building athletes and gym goers.
During the operations, the military arrested two people caught in the act of possession for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances such as marijuana.
The investigations, started by the Sassari NAS investigators in December 2023, arise from the interception of some parcels containing drugs and anabolic substances coming from abroad, intended for the main suspects and then being illicitly marketed to gym goers and people practicing the body building (in some cases participants in competitive and amateur competitions), for a turnover so far quantified at around 80 thousand euros.
Overall, during today’s operation, 4,700 tablets and 120 vials of doping substances were seized.
