From tomorrow, Friday 10 May, and until Sunday 12 May the 95th National Alpine Gathering in Vicenza. Many – as per tradition – too orobic black feathers who will be present.
The esteem of Alpines in Vicenza it is around 400 thousand, including family members and supporters. However, it is difficult to make an exact estimate of the Bergamo black feathers, as the president of the Bergamo section, Giorgio Sonzogni, explains: “It is difficult to say how many there will be, we can hypothesize a number in line with that of the last two rallies in Rimini and Udine. I expect to find at least 5 thousand Orobic Alpine troops at the parade on Sunday 12″.
The Bergamo Alpine troops, including members and members, number around 23 thousand. Furthermore, several mayors of the province of Bergamo will also be present. This year the motto of the event is “The Alpine troops’ dream of peace” and the Bergamo section will display three banners that read: “Alpine troops, standard bearers of peace – The dream of peace with the Alpine troops becomes reality – Peace begins with a smile: the Alpine troops smile”.
It is important to remember that Bergamo is among the candidates to host the 100th National Gatheringwhich will take place in 2029. “We are dreaming that this can happen by virtue of the history of our section which has all the credentials and enthusiasm to propose itself”, explains Sonzogni. But the outcome will only be known in 2027.
