A great appointment with contemporary dramaturgy arrives Friday 10th and Saturday 11th May (start at 2030) in regional exclusive at the Teatro Verdi in Pordenone to seal the 2023/2024 theater programming, before the start of the summer programme. On stage 4 5 6a show by an author who has achieved unparalleled successes in cinema, theater and television (among all Boris), Mattia Torre, passed away prematurely in 2019 at the age of 47. With his caustic and intelligent pen, Torre was able to outline a family portrait in a fun and ironic interior, but also tragic and dramatically current. Shrewd, ironic and biting, the show continually plays on the balance between irony, sarcasm and grotesque comic tones, born from the idea that Italy is not a country, but a convention. That not having a cultural, moral, political unity, Italy today represents a community of individuals who are simply against each other: due to precariousness, uncertainty, distrust and fear; due to lack of common aspirations. In the show, the family becomes an outpost of our cultural backwardness. Father, mother and son – on stage Massimo De Lorenzo, Carlo De Ruggieri, Cristina Pellegrino and with the participation of Giordano Agrusta – they are ignorant, distrustful, nervous. They throw accusations at each other, they top up some tomato sauce left by their grandmother who died years before, they argue, they pray, they hate each other. Each of the three represents for the others the most detestable thing in the world. And yet a truce is needed, because a long-awaited guest is arriving, who can and must change their future. Everything is ready, everything is perfect. But the truce won’t last. 456 is a comedy that tells how the seeds of a conflict are born within the family – which should be the uniting nucleus of defense of the individual: the family feels the society around it is hostile but ends up embodying its worse values, encouraging distrust, hostility, cynicism, fear. Mattia Torre (1972-2019), known for the TV serial Boriswhich later became a film, but which had already made itself noticed in the theater with Improve monologue performed by Valerio Mastandrea, said: «I wrote this piece to tell that feeling of tragic split that I find in our country: we don’t have any form of cohesion, in any social or work environment, nor within the family. In this country we lack the conditions to feel part of a community, to have common objectives. I wanted to stage all this in a grotesque way through the symbolic image of a family within which only hatred flows. Because it is precisely within the family that the seeds of our being all against all are born.”

Unforgettable playwright, screenwriter and director, Mattia Torre he wrote the series “Boris” with Giacomo Ciarrapico and Luca Vendruscolo and was also co-director of the second season. With the same authors, he wrote and directed “Boris – The Film”. In 2014 he signed the making of the film “Every Damned Christmas”. In 2015 he wrote the TV series “Where is Mario?” with Corrado Guzzanti. In 2017 he was the author of the TV series “La linea vertical” from which he based the novel of the same name (Baldini+Castoldi). His production for the theater is very rich and among others we remember: “Best”, “Here and now”, “In the middle of the sea”, “Perfetta”. In 2021 he won the David di Donatello for best original screenplay for the film “Sons”. The television sequel of the same name was based on the comedy 4 5 6 and aired on La7 as part of the program “The show must go off” by Serena Dandini, and the book “4 5 6 – Death to the family”, published by Dalai . In 2022 the show was revived by Paolo Sorrentino for the project broadcast on Rai 3 “Six easy pieces” dedicated to the dramaturgy and theatrical performances of Mattia Torre.
