Marco Polo’s long journey to Cathay, the ancient name of northern China, opened the door to the East for Venice, making the Serenissima Republic the privileged interlocutor, particularly in commercial traffic, with the peoples of the geographically more distant Asia.
Exactly 700 years have passed since the death of the author of that feat, the lagoon city continues to look east, starting from the sea.
THE eastern markets in fact, they remain the natural reference basin of the Venice Boat Showarrived at his 5th editionto be held from May 29th to June 2nd in the usual spaces ofArsenal.
An event which, after the initial challenge launched by the organisers, has consolidated itself year after year as an unmissable event for enthusiasts (starting again from over 30 thousand visitors of the edition 2023) and international operators in the nautical sector, who increasingly believe in the rich program of events planned, demonstrating the growth, including qualitative growth, which aims to continue.
The 2024 Venice Boat Show: some previews
In the 5 days of the Salon, in the spaces that still today represent the symbol of the memory of the economic, political and military power of the Serenissima, since all the boats that made Venice great in history were built here, some of the best contemporary examples of the international nautical and of theMade in Italy craftsmanship.
Are approximately 270 exhibitors expected, distributed over a water basin with 50 thousand square meters intended for display, over 1,100 linear meters of piersthanks to an important infrastructure intervention in the Arsenal complex, and one indoor exhibition space of 5 thousand m2.
They will be presented like this to the public over 300 boatsof which 240 in water, with an important space dedicated to new eco-sustainable technologies for boating, with numerous electric boats but also fed hydrogen.
Many too premières, Italian and worldbrought by major nautical brands. Among those who have confirmed their presence, Ferretti Group, Azimut Benetti, Sanlorenzo, Solaris Yachts Yacht, Silent Yacht, Sirena, Astondoa, Green Line, Rizzardi, Pardo, Prestige, Absolute, FIM and Wider. Even in the sailing segment there are important presences of Italian and international shipyards, both for monohulls and catamarans.
Attention to local realities and events
Vela, which organized the Show on behalf of the Municipality of Venice and in collaboration with the Italian Navy, finding the support of the Government and Region of Veneto (which recognized it as an event of international character), organized as also usual a rich program of events and initiatives dedicated in particular to local realities.
So, for example, a new exhibition concept in Rio delle Galeazze will see exposed the best in the production of wooden motor boats, both with endothermic and electric engines, offering visibility to the excellence of our territory. In the same body of water, for the entire duration of the Show, the water testswith visitors who will be able to test themselves in various rowing sports, including Venetian rowing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, dragon boat, to bring young people in particular closer to traditional Venetian sports and disciplines. The medium dry dock will instead be dedicated to watersports, with particular focus on solutions sup, surf and electric foils.
Also expected water rescue demonstrations, games, the visit of the Dandolo submarinebeyond more than 50 cultural events and in-depth, talk show (largely dedicated to the themes of sustainability, health of the sea and new electric and hybrid propulsion) and scientific appointmentssuch as conventions, conferences and presentations, but also laboratories and educational activities for children and families. The Show will be preceded by 2 important events: on May 11th and 12th the stage of 1st championship of the formula E1 circuit (whose prototype was presented at the 2022 Salone) and, from 17 to 19 May, the Lagoon escapadean annual event that brings together the Lagoon catamarans produced by the Beneteau group.
