Teramo, foreign citizen stopped driving without a license and with hashish on board

TERAMO – In Teramo a foreign citizen was stopped driving without a license and with a block of hashish on board.

As part of a prevention, repression and fight against drug trafficking service, the soldiers belonging to the Mobile Unit of the Teramo Financial Police Group carried out a control post at the exit of the A/24 motorway toll booth in Basciano (TE).

A vehicle was stopped with a foreign national inside, without identification documents, who showed obvious signs of nervousness at the officers’ sight.

The particular situation made the operating soldiers suspicious and pushed them to carry out further investigations.

A search of the vehicle was carried out, as a result of which a cleverly concealed, rectangular, brown-coloured casing was found, bearing the image of the film character “Jack Sparrow, Pirates of the Caribbean” and containing inside about 100 grams of hashish.

The sum of over 2,300 euros was also found on the subject, divided into banknotes of various denominations, which the subject himself was not able to justify.

Subsequent investigations also made it possible to ascertain that the subject did not have a driving license and that he had already been sanctioned for a similar violation in the past, thus constituting a further criminal case.

The person responsible was then reported in a state of freedom to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Teramo for illicit trafficking of narcotic substances with the consequent seizure of the narcotic substance and the cash found on the person.
