From May 9th the Slow Food Market will be in the city twice a month, the second and fourth Thursdayin time afternoon-evening: from 5pm to 10pm, to go shopping, get to know the best local producers, taste their excellence and take them home with you. This year’s event arrives in Piazza Carlo Alberto, in the heart of Turin, a stone’s throw from the Egyptian Museum and Palazzo Carignano. It will be an opportunity to experience one of the historic squares of our city in a special way, with educational activities, tastings and also exceptional collaborations with nearby food and wine realities.

Turin, capital of Piedmont, land of great food and wine excellence and home of Slow Food and the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, has an immense cultural heritage, which finds expression in many agricultural and artisan realities that carry out their work according to the criteria of the “good, clean and fair“. The Turin Earth Market is therefore a project that aims to give maximum expression to this richness, involving every time a selection of producers among the best in the area: producers of Presidia, Masters of Tasteadherents to Basket of typical products of the Province of Turin and so on. It is not just any market, but a space where you can buy and sell the best of food and wine production, create an exchange and provide education.

Among the producers present, there are agricultural companies and companies, oil mills, wineries and breweries, artisan businesses that will offer a vast range of products for sale: customers will be able to purchase – just to name a few – fresh and seasonal fruit and vegetables, cheeses and dairy products of various ages, legumes, jams and compotes, oil from the Piedmont countryside, eggs from free-range hens (free range), mountain honey, flours, dried pasta, bread products, biscuits, local wines and beers artisanal. There is no shortage of Slow Food Presidia, which always have a particular representation. Each time different producers alternate to tell the stories seasons and the biodiversity that nature offers at any time of the year.

Naturally, at the Turin Earth Market you won’t just be shopping. As happens in all other Slow Food farmers’ markets, they are accompanied by buying and selling teaching activitiesopportunities for in-depth study and discovery of the realities and traditions of the area.

Furthermore, exceptionally during market evenings, the premises of Piazza Carlo Alberto they will propose special dishes on the menu which will have as raw materials some of the excellence of the producers selected by Slow Food, for a special aperitif or dinner. The Earth Market is thus a street festival, which offers excellent raw materials, good food and the best good, clean and fair producers!

Matteo and Sabrina Agricultural Company (Scalenghe, TO) | Production and sale of mountain cheeses;

Pozzatello Agricultural Company (Orbassano, TO) | Orbassano Red Celery, Slow Food Presidium: processed;

Beesu (Turin) | Ecopack in organic cotton and beeswax;

Cascina Bonetto (Lusernetta, TO)| Ancient varieties of Piedmontese apples, Slow Food Presidium, juice and pacioc;

What a buzz! (Turin) | Fermented vegetables;

The silver coin (Turin) | Biscuits, jams and fresh fruit lollipops;

Pralormo saffron (Pralormo, TO)| Organic saffron;

Officinals of the Hill (Pino Torinese, TO) | Production and sale of essential oils, medicinal lavender and herbal teas;

Lands of Silk (Racconigi, CN)| From Racconigi mulberries, jams, nectar, gelees, liqueur, dried blackberries and the cosmetics line.
