Montagnana dressed up to welcome the 24th edition of “Prosciutto Veneto DOP in Festa”, an event that attracted the attention of authorities, sector experts and gastronomy enthusiasts from everywhere.

The inauguration saw flag-wavers animate the historic centre, kicking off twelve days of celebrations and tastings. The event takes place between the Isola del Gusto, a covered pavilion of 1400 m2, and the Sala Gourmet, an elegant structure with 250 seats, where local producers such as Attilio Fontana, Daniolo Vittorio, Crosare di Visentin Massimiliano, Vittorio Soranzo and the Salumifici Brianza and Giovanni Fontan
and will delight visitors with their specialties.

The institutional personalities present underlined the importance of the event, reiterating the importance of enhancing the excellence of the territory. Among those who spoke were the Undersecretary of Economy Sandra Savino, the MEPs Paolo Borchia, Rosanna Conte and Paola Ghidoni, as well as numerous other prominent figures.

The Mayor of Montagnana, Gian Paolo Lovato, expressed his satisfaction with this year’s edition, underlining the importance of creating connections between public bodies, citizens and associations. Food and wine is intertwined with cultural, entertainment and tourist exchange moments, offering a complete experience to visitors.

The president of the Protection Consortium, Attilio Fontana, highlighted the meaning behind this event, which not only represents a showcase for Prosciutto Veneto DOP, but also offers the opportunity to learn about the production process through guided visits to the ham factories.

The event, supported by the Chamber of Commerce and other sponsors, is not limited to tasting the product. A rich program of market exhibitions, cultural events and guided excursions offers a complete experience for participants.

Furthermore, the link with the city of Piacenza adds a special touch to this year, highlighting the organizers’ desire to promote Italian agri-food excellence.

Not just tastings, but also opportunities for fun and entertainment for the whole family, with markets, inflatables for children and the chance to win prizes and gadgets through the Wheel of Fortune.

The initiative, organized by Mark. Co. & Co. with the support of the Consortium for the Protection of Prosciutto Veneto DOP and the Municipality of Montagnana, promises to be an unforgettable experience for all lovers of good food and local culture.
