De Luca returns to being mayor: “Enough B&Bs, tourism in Salerno needs hotels”

The president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Lucayesterday at the Fucito hospital in Mercato San Severino for the inauguration of a latest generation CT scan, is back speaking from….mayor of Salerno.

The governor underlines – as the newspaper reports today “The Chronicles” available online – that there is one in the city «lack of hotel facilities. We must counteract this drive to achieve bed and breakfast in all the centers of our cities, the historic centers are becoming deserted».

And he adds: «We must pay attention to some delicate situations that lend themselves to speculation: you have seen that there isarea next to Grand Hotel where there is a parking lot that is half fenced, an area that has been sold by the Municipality to build hotels.

The destination of that area is hotel and that’s it, so I take this opportunity to inform our fellow citizens that if anyone tries to sell private apartments on paper he is a criminal, a scammer and therefore the citizens of Salerno must be careful not to chase away hundreds of thousands of euros because they will lose them.

Beware of criminalsi, to speculators because that area is for hotel use, there are no other destinations and there won’t be».
