The energy requalification, with structural strengthening, of the field has begun baseball Giovanni Torri of Modenain via Minutara, a project financed with PNRR funds For 4 million euros. The intervention will allow us to improve the quality level of the playing fields, for better comfort for the public and those who use the field itself.
Competitive and youth baseball and softball are played in the sports facility. It consists of 3 fields: the main one for series A and C, the field for Under 14, 15 and 18 and that for Mini-baseball, Under 12 and softball.
The works will be completed by the end of 2025 and will be organized so as not to prevent the Modena baseball team, which plays in the Serie A championship, from carrying out training sessions and matches, concentrating the most impactful work in the championship period (between November and March). Once the works are completed, the plant will be able to count on a field approved for softball.
The Modena Baseball Club team, founded in 1966, plays in Serie A and can count on over one hundred athletes with teams active in mini baseball, Under 12, Under 15 and Under 18, with the aim of adding to the first team also a team to be registered for the Serie C championship.

Once the works are completed – by December 2025, but the technicians hope to finish early – the potential of the sports facility will increase which may also be a candidate for approval for international matches. A gathering of the Under 18 national team will be hosted already in June.
The planned interventions include:
- there construction of a roof for the grandstand with independent structure in steel and laminated wood, also functional for the installation of a photovoltaic system,
- there energy requalification of all the rooms with the renewal of the lighting system. The total relamping of the lighting system on all three fields also involves the use of the latest technology LED lamps and on field 1 the lighting parameters will go even beyond the standards required for the A series.
- the creation of a new electrical systemof a plant for heating and the mechanical ventilation of the rooms, the replacement of internal and external fixtures, the creation of a new ventilation system irrigation automatic for the three playing fields, with the recovery of rainwater through a collection and filtration tank.
- there reorganization of the rooms functional to the usability of the spaces
- the adaptation of the three existing fields with the enlargement of the dugouts (the areas of the team benches) and the direct connection to the changing rooms of the respective teams,
- the creation of one accessible covered grandstand,
- The renovation of toiletsalso for disabled people.
The construction of the red diamond for softball (it will be field 3, including drainage and irrigation), as well as the creation of a spectator area dedicated to the disabled and a redevelopment of the spaces for indoor training through the creation of a special sports flooring.
