CIVITAVECCHIA – The president Francesco Rocca launches the largest investment in public health personnel in the Lazio Region in the last twenty years. Rocca announced the hiring plan to the unions, which represents the desire to strengthen the regional health service.
These are 8 thousand and 158 new permanent hires – of which 6843 authorizations for 2024 and 1315 new hires for the Jubilee 2025 – in addition to the 1541 stabilizations for the current year.
In ASL Roma 4 there will be a total of 279 hires including authorizations in April 2024 (20), authorizations to be issued (238) and stabilizations to be issued (21). We are talking about 91 management positions (doctors) and 188 sector positions (non-doctors).
Overall, the maxi-investment, equal to 466 million euros over the next two years, therefore provides for 9699 authorizations for the recruitment of healthcare professionals.
A real breath of fresh air that is unprecedented: in fact, adding up the hirings already granted in 2023 (4054 units, including 1605 stabilisations, for 195.5 million euros), we arrive at 13 thousand 753 healthcare workers (among new hiring and stabilization) for a total investment of 661 million and 500 thousand euros.
The new staff will also serve to make the interventions implemented with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan fully operational. Concerning: 59 territorial operations centers, 35 community hospitals, 131 community homes and 298 large equipment.
The regional health service will go from 53 thousand and 583 employees in 2023 to 62 thousand and 662 professionals in 2025, planning to welcome the millions of faithful in view of the 2025 Jubilee. A dramatic increase for healthcare in Lazio: plus 17 percent, which reduces precarious work and embraces the new generations in the world of work.
«The National Health Service today represents one of the most important assets of the country. The health of citizens and their quality of life depend on its good functioning. Every day thousands of women and men wake up with the aim of guaranteeing all of us the right to health. We know this well, and this is why we have decided to approve one of the largest investments in public health in recent years”, explained President Rocca, meeting the trade unions in the Lazio Region headquarters, together with the director of the Health Directorate and Social and health integration, Andrea Urbani.
«Over 6,800 new hires which, with the 2,500 approved in the last weeks of last year, become approximately 9,300, plus the 1300 for the 2025 Jubilee. To these we must add 1,500 stabilisations, which are added to the 1600 already carried out in 2023. An effort to programming which, overall, involved almost 14 thousand operators for an investment of 661.5 million euros. A bet on the future”, explained Rocca to the unions, adding: “We are talking about a challenge of civilization with respect to the adverse conditions in which thousands of healthcare, technical and administrative workers operate today, with the sole objective of taking care of us citizens in moment that we are weaker, more fragile and scared.”

A sign of esteem and closeness to our doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, technicians and administrators. A choice that will lead to a 17 percent increase in the current workforce. But above all a choice that intends to contribute to increasing the services that the citizens of Lazio deserve, together with the serenity of our operators”, concluded Rocca.

In ASL Roma 4 the Region has given the green light to the hiring of 3 cardiologists, 4 general surgery medical units, 2 palliative care units, 1 medical director, 4 geriatricians, 5 hygiene and public health units, 15 emergency doctors emergency medicine, 2 forensic medicine, 1 sports medicine, 1 transfusion medicine, 6 nephrology, 8 neurology (for the opening of the new department at San Paolo), 2 ophthalmologists, 4 organization of basic health services, 5 orthopedics and traumatology, 5 obstetrics and gynecology, 4 clinical pathology, 1 radiodiagnostic unit, 5 functional recovery and rehabilitation, 1 food science, 2 pharmacy, 10 psychologists, 62 nurses, 53 obstetricians, 4 health assistants, 11 physiotherapists, 1 speech therapist, 16 midwives, 5 social workers, 3 technical assistants, 2 technical collaborators, 2 laboratory technicians, 5 radiology technicians, 7 prevention technicians, 5 psychiatric rehabilitation technicians, 1 perfusion technician, 6 administrative assistants and 5 administrative collaborators.
