After Anzani it is the turn of another central defender. It is Pardo Mati (photo), born in 2006, one of the most promising young players of the Italian national teams who after the A2 with Santa Croce lands in Modena.
Tuscan from Grosseto, we read in the Modena Volley press release, Mati is making his debut in Serie A1 after playing in B, A2 and A3 respectively with the shirts of Grosseto where he was born and raised, Santa Croce and Brugherio. He was named the best central defender in Europe with the Italian Junior National team with which he won the European category in 2022. Now the new adventure in Modena to continue his growth process. Will it be a trial in competition with that of Giovanni Sanguinetti? Mati certainly arrives to climb the hierarchies, in a department that does not yet have all its certainties: the latest radio market rumors, in fact, reported by volleyball.it, give the negotiation between Podrascanin and Verona as a failure due to a question of requests for engagement irreconcilable with the Scala budgets. Will Modena get back in the running to bring home the European champion central defender, now former captain of Trento? Maybe trying to naturalize it at the last minute? And if so, how will the department change in this case? The feeling is that in the end the central four will be the newly arrived Mati, Anzani, Sanguinetti and Stankovic.
