The Giro d’Italia 2024 today he faces the sixth stop, the Torre del Lago Puccini-Rapolano Terme of 180 km. The stage on 9 May 2024, live on TV and streaming, includes a program with dirt sections for the group led by pink jersey Tadej Pogacar. There are 3 special sectors, for approximately 12 km in total. The first two dirt sections are part of the Strade Bianche route, the third is new. The spotlight is obviously on Pogacar, who demolished the competition in the last Strade Bianche with an 80km breakaway.
The first 70 km of the day are a sort of warm-up: all flat, without jolts. The script begins to change with the ascent towards Volterra, with the fourth category Mountain Grand Prix. The stage becomes a succession of mini-climbs up to the Vidritta dirt sector which flows into the Bagnaia stretch, where the gradients increase up to 15% and selection becomes inevitable. The route remains decidedly lively and in Serre di Rapopiano, about 5 km from the finish line, with gradients of up to 20% there is the chance to make a difference before the uphill finish.
The sixth stage on TV and streaming
The sixth stage of the Giro d’Italia will be broadcast live on free-to-air TV and in streaming. Rai will talk about the day of the second stage in free-to-air broadcast every day of the race. The television day will begin with an hour of ‘Giro Mattina’ on Rai Sport HD, which will then offer ‘Prima direct’ to follow the start of the stage, scheduled today at 12.45pm, until 2pm.
For the key part of the programming, the Corsa Rosa schedule moves to Rai 2, with ‘Giro in Diretta’ until 4.15pm and ‘Giro all’Arrivo’ immediately following, for the story of the culminating phases of each stage until finish line expected between approximately 5.00pm and 5.30pm.
