In via Duomo the pictorial homage to the Madonna dello Sterpeto

The Madonna dello Sterpeto is the patron saint and emblem of our city: she is the one who protects us and to whom the people of Barletta turn for their needs. The cult of her dates back to 1656, the year in which she managed to stop the plague that had decimated approximately two thirds of the citizens of Barletta, which is why her image could not be missing from the collection that the artist Antonella Palmitessa is dedicating to sacred images of the city.

You will see it standing out on the balconies of the buildings in Via Duomo throughout the Marian month as an icon, a symbol of faith and tradition, almost as if to indicate the way to the nearby Cathedral, a place of worship, devotion in its honor by the entire Barletta community.
