And to carry forward, during 2023, investments of 60 million euros in vertical integration, progressive internationalization of some phases of the production process and acquisition of strategic skills. In Torgiano, in the province of Perugia, these investments have meant doubling the surface area of ​​the knitwear hub. The restyling was presented in the presence of the group’s CEO, Andrea Guerra, and Lorenzo Bertelli, marketing director, head of Corporate Social Responsibility. The journalist Ferruccio De Bortoli moderated the meeting. “For years, Torgiano has been an important small place, always linked to the Umbrian tradition of knitwear – highlighted Guerra – In the last 6/7 years, with the extraordinary growth of the segment, it was decided to create an all-round industrial center , the product creation part has been strengthened and a production hub has been created”. The Prada Group settled in Torgiano in the early 2000s. Since then, the structure has grown significantly: the surface area of ​​the building was doubled for the first time in 2017 and a second expansion was completed at the end of last year, bringing the total area occupied is currently 9,000 square metres. In 2001 there were only 39 employees at the plant, then they increased to 105 in 2017 and today there are 214. Of these, 72% are women, 16% are under 35 years old. 65 hires were made during 2023, another 30 new hires are planned for this year.
