Laundry Heroes The series is ‘Made in Modena’

Great anticipation for the launch of the new series ‘Laundry Heroes’, shot entirely in our province and therefore 100% ‘Made in Modena’. Director Vincenzo Malara, former producer of the series ‘Rudi’, wrote and directed the four episodes of the first season of this dramatic comedy, which aims to impress viewers with its ability to mix irony, drama and romance in a single series ; the themes touched upon are strong, as can be seen from the trailer, and the story revolves around the story of Filippo (played by Athos Leonardi), a tormented young writer, and Andromeda (Nicole Soffritti), a musician with a difficult past.

The two young people meet in the unusual context of a laundromat, which will constitute the central place of the comedy, a sort of urban microcosm within which other ‘disoriented’ existences also pass by. “The laundromat has a great symbolic value for me – explained the director Malara, during the launch conference of the series in the historic setting of the Arena cinema – since there was a period of my life where I frequented one, and in While waiting for the laundry to be ready I reflected on many questions and I liked to ask myself questions about the people I met and saw passing by day after day. The series we are launching today was entirely filmed in the Modena area, in particular at the Manifattura Tabacchi and the historic one. ‘Video Bif’ video library. I also thank the ‘Lavapiù Honey’ laundry for making the space available to us in which the protagonists’ stories are born”.

The project was produced by ‘Scirocco Barocco Creation’ and the associated producer Roberta Sghedoni, with the support of the municipal administration, the Euphonia association and local partners. The pilot episode of ‘Laundry Heroes’ will be screened as a free preview on 12 June, in a special evening: “Entrance will be free and there is already the possibility of booking on the ‘Evenbrite.com’ portal – explained Nicolò Flace, new owner of the Arena cinema, which will host the event –. Before the screening of the episode, which will last approximately 35 minutes, there will be an acoustic concert by the singer-songwriter Guido Boni, protagonist of the latest X-Factor and curator of the entire soundtrack the series. We hope for a large audience for what represents the first of several important events for our cinema, which we have recently restored thanks to costly economic interventions and which lends itself very well to this type of occasion, with its completely renovated and capable theater. to accommodate 410 people”. For director Malara, the ambitions after the launch of the series are high: “The goal is to conclude the filming of the other episodes in the winter and distribute ‘Laundry Heroes’ in all the main national and international festivals, then on the streaming platform”.
