Pesaro elections, the wife of Biagiotti killed by asbestos is running: “In the name of Roberto”

Pesaro, 9 May 2024 – “I always had there passion for politicsbut when they asked me to apply for the next ones administrative elections I have decided to accept also in emotional, moral and political continuity with Roberto”. Khadija Bourayasaid Kady32 years old, social health worker and widow of the municipal councilor Roberto Biagiottiwho passed away prematurely last year at the age of just 40 due to a mesotheliomaa cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. A disappearance that particularly shook the whole city, given that the illness had taken Biagiotti by surprise and had taken him away in a few months, leaving behind the wife he had married shortly before and a child who was only two years old at the time. Now, after that tragedy, it is his wife who carries out the political commitment. To do this you have chosen to run on the “Il Faro” list which supports Andrea Biancani’s candidacy for mayor. “I decided to run because I have always been passionate about politics – says Bouraya – but in this case it was a random coincidence. It all started because I had to sign a rental contract for a non-profit foundation for vulnerable people. To get all the relevant information I turned to Stefano Donini, who for many years was the manager of the Home Desk of the Municipality of Pesaro and who today is part of Sunia. Also a candidate with ‘Il Faro’, he spoke to me about the list’s programme, which I appreciated straight away. From there I agreed to run.”

The programmatic points who most represent Kady Bouraya are “the support for families And young And inclusion for all people of any nationality and religion. Especially on this last point – she says – I believe it is necessary to promote effective social inclusion for immigrants. Being of foreign origin and having recently acquired Italian citizenshipso much so that this will be my first time voting, I believe I can offer my contribution and be a useful example of integration for communities”.

Then the memory by Roberto Biagiotti, the husband who passed away a year ago, who in the 2019 local elections had been elected in the ranks of the League, then moved to the Mixed Group. “We often talked about politics at home – explains Bouraya – and it is also thanks to him that this passion of mine grew. Roberto’s death took us completely by surprise, so much so that we still don’t know the causes that led him to become ill. In a year we still haven’t been able to understand why. Also for him, for his constant commitment to this city, I felt the duty to make my contribution.”
