Parma BRT drivers avoid the increase in hours

After almost a week of strike with blockade of the BRT gates inside the Parma Interport, the BRT drivers have avoided the increase in weekly working hours, which had been proposed after a change of contract. The new contract provided for an increase from 39 to 47 hours for tractor drivers and from 39 to 44 hours for van drivers, without an increase in pay. The grassroots union SiCobas then called a strike, which began on April 30 and continued until the agreement was reached.

The drivers who work for Brt I’m also agitated in Bologna, in this case coordinated by Uiltrasporti. They are the workers of the Libera company, which is one of those whose procurement contract was canceled by the courier. The company has had to stop around thirty new vans, while 35 drivers risk losing their jobs. On May 2, a garrisoned strike took place in front of the BRT gates in Bologna.

Meanwhile, the comparison between the top management of Brt and the road haulage associations who represent the small businesses to which the courier has sent the contract cancellation. In the foreground is Assotir, which in order to continue the negotiations suspended the ban announced for a week from 29 April to 3 May. The technical roundtable began on May 2 and will have “a limited time frame”, according to what the association declared.
