PALERMO – The investigators’ only doubt it is linked to the second gunshot that hit the woman.
A question regarding dynamics, but investigators believe that a murder-suicide occurred in via Notarbartolo in recent days. Laura Lupo, a municipal police officer, shot her husband Piero Delia with her service pistol.
According to the reconstruction of the carabinieri, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the woman fired the first shots in the corridor, the husband tried to escape and was shot dead in the kitchen. Four 9mm bullets hit him.
Then the woman turned the gun on herself and shot herself in the head. By falling, and this is the dynamic on which some doubt has arisen, a second shot would have been accidentally fired which hit her in the neck. The weapon remained next to his hand.
Two circumstances would confirm the reconstruction. The door of the apartment was locked from the inside and the cameras placed in front of the door, near which a magistrate lives, did not record the arrival of other people during the time, between 6.30 and 7, when tragedy occurred.
It was the couple’s daughter who called the firefighters, a few hours later, unable to enter the house. The firefighters forced the door open and found the bodies.
The autopsy on the spouses revealed the strangeness of the second shot, but investigators confirm that it was a murder-suicide.
