Former mayor Albertini in Bergamo to launch Saffioti’s candidacy: “He embodies the values ​​of his city”

Bergamo. With an exceptional guest, the former mayor of Milan Gabriele Albertini, and in a Galmozzi Hall full of seats, the race officially began yesterday Carlo Saffioti as a candidate, leader of Forza Italia, in the next municipal elections of Bergamo. An investiture of absolute importance by a long-experienced administrator who was able to guide the Lombardy capital with great ability in two mandates, from 1997 to 2006.

Starting from the illustration of his recent book “I want my Milan back”, Albertini spoke about what it means to administer a large city through his winning experience, sharing memories and anecdotes that have characterized his political career, from the meeting with Silvio Berlusconi to the many challenges and goals achieved as first citizen of Milan. Albertini then introduced his friend Carlo Saffioti to the audience, underlining his characteristics of competence, experience and passion which distinguish him as the ideal candidate to represent Bergamo.

“Carlo Saffioti is a candidate who embodies the values ​​of a Bergamo that is racing towards the future,” he states Albertini. “His determination and commitment make him the right person to advance the challenges and opportunities facing the city. I am sure that with him Bergamo will be able to prosper and grow even more.” The official presentation by a great mayor like the former mayor of Milan, Gabriele Albertini, was an important opportunity to understand the motivations that pushed Carlo Saffioti to run for the role of municipal councilor in Bergamo (and, in the event of the victory of the centre-right, as deputy mayor).

“After a recent trip to Israel, I decided to run for my Bergamo, bringing to the centre-right and the mayoral candidate Andrea Pezzotta my personal contribution in terms of experience, competence and passion for politics which was rekindled in a very strong way after a some time. The presentation and appreciation of a great mayor like Albertini who made Milan a European capital represent for me an important push in the start of my race for the Bergamo city council”, states Saffioti.

“Just as for Albertini, a great friend, I too am deeply animated in political life by an ideal, but at the same time concrete, North Star, made up of pragmatism and honesty, always privileging the common good over the particular one with tenacity and determination to the end to improve Bergamo more and more”, underlines the leader of Forza Italia for Bergamo. Also on stage was the mayoral candidate for the centre-right Andrea Pezzotta, who declared: “Listening to the words of a man of valuable administrative experience like Gabriele Albertini is certainly a stimulus and encouragement. I really want to thank Carlo Saffioti for inviting me to this pleasant and fruitful presentation with a politician like Albertini who was also able to provide valuable advice”.
