The sound of the trumpet will mark the departure which can be done, depending on the weather and sea conditions, stationary or moving. The two crews will only meet for a moment at the start: on opposite lanes, after having covered the first 60 metres, they will reach the mark at which they will have to tack. At that point the most difficult part will begin: 120 meters to reach the second buoy and after the tack return to the centre, covering the total distance of 240 metres.

The speaker Tommy Rossi he will talk about the match minute by minute from his position in via Escrivà. At his side are the judges led by the upright man Carlo Puddu. The Naval League dinghy with the boatswain is at sea to supervise the race Alessandro Nespolini.
