AS Roma celebrates Mother’s Day on Sunday 12 May with the inmates participating in the experimental project of protected coexistence for parents with children in home detention.
Thanks to the collaboration with theDepartment of Security Policies, Productive Activities and Equal Opportunities of Rome Capital and with the Department of Social Policies and Healthsome mothers who live with their children in the structure “Leda’s House” to serve their sentence, on May 7th they received AS Roma toys and gadgets from the mascot Romolo to be able to spend this special day with their children in the name of the Giallorossi colours.
“Casa di Leda” is an experimental project of protected cohabitation for parents with children (ex art. 4 L. 62/2011), in home detention or probationary custody to the Social Service, carried out in a property stolen from organized crime and acquired by unavailable heritage of Rome Capital, inaugurated in 2017.
The service – which has the main objective of identifying all possible forms of support for individual intervention projects of female guest mothers and safeguarding the protection and rights of children present in the facility – is managed in synergistic collaboration between Lazio region, Rome capital city and fromPublic Personal Services Company “Asilo Savoia”.
The initiative carried out by the Club at the “Casa di Leda” was organized with the aim of supporting parenting and strengthening family relationships as a whole and follows the one already carried out in March in the male section of the Rebibbia prison on the occasion of Father’s Day.
“Every family to whom we can benefit with our presence is dear to us without any distinction,” he declared Michael Wandell, Chief Commercial and Brand Officer of AS Roma. “This support that we continuously provide to the community, working in synergy with the institutions, allows us to make concrete the concept of family on and off the pitch that characterizes our Club.”
