We receive and publish the Press release Of UILM Basilicata with which he says:

“It was held today, at Scambio Logico – Potenza, at 9.30 am, the Regional Council of UILM Basilicata.

The regional council, which was very well attended, saw the start of the work by discussing issues relating to industrial situation at regional level and the very delicate phase of the automotive sectorcharacterized by transformations linked not only to the industrial revolution from endothermic to electric but also from positioning of Stellantis at a national level.

As well said by our national secretary Rocco Palombella, it is necessary for Stellantis to sit at a union discussion table so that the future of all Italian factories can be clearly outlined.

If this does not happen we are ready to every regional mobilization but also a national strike that will involve all Stellantis sites and workers and therefore all production and industrial realities and therefore components and logistics.

It’s taking place right this afternoon the meeting relating to the SGL/Bcube dispute, which involves around 170 workers, at the Basilicata Region – department of productive activities – with workers in charge of the Region. Furthermore, the convening of the first meeting relating to the negotiation for the renewal of the metalworking collective bargaining agreement was communicated and welcomed, a meeting which will be held on 30 May.

The proactive debate was highlighted the issue of safety, also in light of the latest fatal accidents at work; safety in the workplace has always been at the forefront of the commitment of the UILM as well as the UIL of Basilicata.

Furthermore, all of them were discussed the realities located at the regional levelof the difficulties of ITM, of Siderpotenza, of the industrial situation of the entire railway sector of our region and of the oil sector which must immediately see the convening of transparency tables with Eni and Total by the new council, because it is essential to preserve the employment today but also, and we are already late, creating those alternative conditions – through the right and adequate investments – which over time can guarantee work in Val D’Agri.

We need to establish the Lucanian oil district in which, effectively and efficiently, we need to plan the future of our communities, of all communities, and therefore of our region.

In conclusion, the UILM regional council made an appeal to President Bardi to hurry up in establishing the new council but above all to put work and workers at the centre”.
