The protagonist of this ugly story of family violence is a 32 year old manrecently sentenced to six months’ imprisonment by the court of Lecce (abbreviated) for aggravated personal injury. Yet, for the prosecutor, that violent gesture could have been attributable to simple “educational methods». An approach that did not convince the judge, who ruled out that the violence could have anything to do with education and sentenced the 32-year-old. The sentence was suspended, but the man will have to compensate the child’s natural father who, with the complaint, started the legal case.
The facts
The facts date back to October 2022: in the house, together with the child, there are also her mother and her partner. At dinner all three sit at the table but the little girl, immediately after starting to eat, chews too loudly, with her mouth open. It is at that point that her stepfather, irritated by her, punches her full in the face.
The next day it is the father, seeing the hematoma on his daughter’s face, who asks her for explanations, and it is there that the fact comes to light: the little girl tells him everything and the two go to the barracks to report it, giving the matter a judicial implication. . During the trial, the little girl’s mother was also heard, who downplayed the incident. However, she was unable to convince the judge.
