Friday 10 May, 4pm, at the ITET “Cassandro-Fermi-Nervi” multipurpose center in Barletta
the inauguration of the Garden of the Righteous with the laying of the first stone in memory of Judge Rosario
Livatino. The Hon. will be present. Alfredo Mantovano, Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of
Council of Ministers and Secretary of the Council of Ministers.
The multipurpose ITET “Cassandro-Fermi-Nervi” of Barletta, with the support of the Municipality of Barletta,
Department of Culture, started a process of dialogue and knowledge of women with the students
and of the men who are innocent victims of the mafias and of those who, in every part of the world, have
helped the victims of genocides, persecutions and totalitarian regimes.
A continuous training and education activity followed by the dedication of a green space of the
Multipurpose, the Garden of the Righteous, dedicated to the memory of men and women whose stories deserve to
be known and elevated as a clear example of uncommon courage and high civic sense.
It is the intention of the Polivalente to plan an activity every year that helps students to learn about and
delve into the history and life of an exemplary figure whose memory will find a place in the Garden of
Right.
For this first year, the figure of Rosario Livatino was chosen, a magistrate killed by the mafia and
declared blessed as a martyr of justice and faith on 9 May 2021 by Pope Francis.
On May 10th, at 4 pm, the nascent Garden of the Righteous of the ITET Polyvalent will be blessed
“Cassandro-Fermi-Nervi” of Barletta and the stone commemorating judge Rosario Livatino discovered.
The guest of the day will be magistrate Alfredo Mantovano, Undersecretary of State to the Presidency
of the Council of Ministers and Secretary of the Council of Ministers, who will speak on “Rosario Livatino:
a current example.”
