VIAREGGIO (LUCCA) – The 6th stage of the Giro d’Italia will take place on Thursday 9 May 2024, starting from Torre del Lago and arriving in Rapolano Terme. To guarantee the safety of the event, the Municipalities of Viareggio and Rapolano Terme have instituted the following changes to circulation and parking.

VIAREGGIO

From 3pm on Wednesday 8 May to 7pm on Thursday 9 May they are established driving and parking bans with forced removal, over the entire area of ​​Belvedere Puccini, Piazzale Arturo Toscanini, and on Viale Puccini on both sides from Piazza Toscanini to the Belvedere.

Parking and circulation ban instead, from 5am to 6pm on May 9th, along via Bellini on both sides, via Boccherini on both sides, viale retro Ferracci stadium on the entire area, the entire Festival Puccini parking area, on via delle Torbiere on both sides of viale Puccini at the end of the asphalt road, in the (private) car park with access from via delle Torbiere (normally used during Puccini’s operas – second entrance on the sea side coming from viale Puccini), along Viale Puccini on both sidesfrom Piazzale Toscanini (where not already provided for) to Via Aurelia.

Prohibition of transit in Viale Puccini in the stretch between Via Aurelia and Piazzale Toscanini on May 9th from 6am to 3pm and in any case until the need ceases. From 10.45am transit is also prohibited in via Aurelia, from viale Puccini to the border with the Municipality of Vecchiano.

All roads that converge with Viale Puccini and Via Aurelia will also be closed (between Viale Puccini and the municipality of Vecchiano border), in particular Via Aurelia coming from the north heading south to the roundabout of Via Vittime del 29 Giugno / via dell’Aquila / via Roma; viale Marconi / via XX Settembre; via Garibaldi / via Volta.

And finally Traffic entering the access ramps to the Variante Aurelia in the direction of Pisa is prohibited for at least 2 hours before the start of the stage (approximately at 10.45am).

Available free of charge to citizens, 500 parking spaces have been reserved in the “Once upon a time” park area, with access from via Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour.
