Possible turning point in the murder case Pierina Paganellithe 78-year-old killed in Rimini on the evening of 3 October 2023. The children of the retired nurse, stabbed to death in the garage of her home, are convinced of this: «We trust that answers will arrive quickly from the Prosecutor’s Office regarding the murder of our mother, supported by strong and thoughtful evidence,” they say Julian, Clear And Giacomo Saponiheard several times by the Prosecutor’s Office in recent months.
Pierina Paganelli, the hypothesis of the “widespread” DNA test
According to what Resto del Carlino reports, the lawyer of Manuela Bianchi – daughter-in-law of the victim, suspected of the murder – would have asked the investigators to subject the almost 500 residents of the condominium in via del Ciclamino where the crime took place to a DNA test. It would be a “blanket” examination, the same strategy used to find the murderer years ago Yara Gambirasio, the 13 year old killed in 2010 in Brembate di Sopra. This is a strong request, still being examined by the Prosecutor’s Office, which makes the condominiums of the building turn up their noses.
The suspects
The Pierina Paganelli case is quite intricate and after 7 months the suspects remain the usual four: her daughter-in-law Manuela Bianchi, her brother Loris and the neighbors Louis Dassilva (who had an affair with Manuela) and his wife Valeria Bartolucci. According to the victim’s children, however, the murderer could be a fifth man.
