Over 400 Jews celebrated the important anniversary of Jewish Easter in a well-known location on the Ionian coast Catanzaro. The event has been widely publicized in recent months on the website of the same promoting agency, among the most highly rated in France for the tourism of the Jews. The French community is among the most important in Europe and is made up of over 700 thousand members. The large colony of French tourists has literally ‘invaded’ the shores of the Catanzaro area, going so far as to build a synagogue inside the hotel complex. In addition to services for families, sports and leisure activities, the agency’s website reports the presence of internationally renowned rabbis such as Rabbi Rothenberg and Rabbi Gobert.
In the online advertisements for the event, reported on Facebook by journalist Klaus Davia description that does honor to the Southern Italian region: “By the sea, among palm trees and bougainvillea… The seaside resort bathed by the Ionian Sea is an exotic oasis with a thousand-year history. The surrounding area is dotted with beaches and ancient villages. An ideal destination if you are looking for relaxation, entertainment, shows or a Calabrian sunset on holiday.”
