ROME – Superstition is a word that can be translated in many ways in German: it depends on the context of the sentence. Perhaps there are so many ways that sometimes, in those parts, we happen to forget it. This is more or less what happened to the Bayer Leverkusen. The message holds the conditional, but betrays every superstitious rule that has always accompanied football teams: “If tomorrow we reach the UEL final against Roma, the sale of tickets for Dublin will begin on Friday”, the post, which refers to a website page richer in information.

Guess who flocked to Bayer’s profile to comment on that post? Roma fans, obviously, among whom that message has become widespread. A flurry of compliments for the final already reached, obviously in an ironic tone. Obviously, a way to try to play with fate. Certainly, for some that ostentation has rekindled the timid hope that fate, offended by such self-assurance, may decide to play a prank on the proud and unbeatable Bayer.
