The Emilia Romagna Region; “Beware of posts on social media announcing free public transport passes. Don’t click: they’re a scam”

Be careful, the posts that have been circulating on social networks for about a week on Facebook and which promise free passes for regional buses or trains for all residents of Emilia-Romagna are a scam.

This is a false communication campaign “I move” launched on the Meta platform by fake profiles to obtain money or steal the identity of citizens.

This was underlined by the Region which, following the numerous reports received by Tper and the regional Urp starting from 30 April, reported the fraud to the Postal Police and Meta to identify those responsible and obscure the pages.

The false message, which can be misleading because it shows the image of the ‘Mi Muovo’ regional card, promises one to three years of free subscription, in a special offer to be activated by May 31st, and invites the user to click on the URLs https://healthquino.com/FcGkrWBz or multidalt.com.

It is important not to click on those URLs and always check first on the Region website (https://www.regione.emilia-romagna.it/) or the Mobility website (https://mobilita.regione.emilia-romagna.it/ ) if savings initiatives are active for public transport season ticket holders.

The Region, for example, makes available, with the Salta Su initiative, a free season ticket for students of primary, middle, high school and vocational training institutes, resident in Emilia-Romagna, who choose to go to school using buses and regional trains. A measure which, last year, allowed 213 thousand girls and boys to travel for free with savings for Emilia-Romagna families of over 47.5 million euros (on average around 300 euros per child).
