(LaPresse) The 2023 annual report of the Guarantor of people subjected to measures restrictive of personal freedom in the Campania Region was presented in the hall of the Regional Council of Campania. “We are recording that there are a series of measures that are being examined by both parliament and the government, let’s wait. We are urging, also with the regional guarantors, measures that can immediately impact overcrowding. Even for Samuele Ciambriello, Guarantor of prisoners for the Campania Region, there are rules that can combat overcrowding “In Campania we have 2,000 prisoners more than the places available. Of these people, there are 2,706 people who have to serve a year or two years of prison. They are not Camorra members, they are not pedophiles, they are not drug traffickers. They are often forgotten, invisible people. These people could be released from prison, even with alternative sentences to prison.” The guarantor Ciambriello concluded.
