MODENA. All the mayors were invited, from Parma to Ferrara passing through Modena And Reggio Emilia, to participate in the preliminary Services Conference on the Cispadana motorway project. The video conference, called by the Emilia Romagna Region and which will be held tomorrow, has, in fact, the dual purpose of activating the Program Agreement and giving consent to the Final Project of the Cispadana motorway.
THE “NO” COMMITTEE POLICIES
This news immediately aroused the interest of the “Cispadano coordination NO motorway – YES fast road” who, in a press release, submits some questions to the local institutions before they implement or adopt, in their Master Plans (Pug), the “punctual” technical status of the Cispadana motorway project. The Cispadano Coordination, first of all, asks the administrations and citizens how adequate and constant their involvement in the Cispadana motorway project has been, from a technical and procedural point of view. Secondly, the timing with which this conference was called was brought to the attention of the administrators: a decision taken now, in fact, would weigh on the administrative future of the new mayors who will take over with the local elections on 9 June. This, in fact, would cause the birth of malicious pre-election chatter, as well as determining an imposition on future mayors who could have a different opinion than those in office.
«Was it not more ethical and democratic for the regional presidency to postpone this call for “formal commitment” from the mayors at least after the elections of next 8 and 9 June? – he declares Silvano Tagliavini president of the Cispadano Coordination – The Coordination expects, from all the subjects involved, an attitude of formal institutional respect as well as a simple, but important, expression of common sense”.
It is, therefore, on the basis of these elements that the “Cispadano Coordination NO motorway – YES fast road” asks the current local administrations to question themselves on the issues previously proposed and to make a decision in “science and conscience”.
