The plague doctor by Stefano Obino arrives in Veneto: meetings in Venice and Treviso

The plague doctor created by the Sardinian author Stefano Obino lands in Veneto. “Salazar. The silence of the plague”published by Camena Edizioni, arrives in the places where it was set and conceived with three meetings between Treviso and Venice.

The graphic novel takes place in a dramatic period for the Venice of the 16th century century, after the tragic battle of Lepanto and during the crisis of the Serenissima Republic of Doge Alvise Mocenigo, hit by the most serious plague epidemic known up to then. Joaquin Salazar, plague doctor, is about to go to fulfill his duty accompanied by his beloved wife on the sea. He doesn’t know that fate will put him in front of one of the highest moral dilemmas: following the principles of work and law and denying the values ​​that make you a man, or remain faithful to one’s oaths?

“I am really excited at the idea of ​​presenting my latest work in Veneto and in particular in Venice, where I set the story of my new book – says Obino -. Bartolomeo Salazar’s two graphic novels arise from the project of creating a network of Lazzaretti dItalypromoted by Sant. cooperativeElijah 2003 which manages the Lazzaretto of Cagliari, and it is precisely from Cagliari, the Sardinian city where I live and work, that the story begins, to arrive at the lagoon city with a leap back in time of about 400 years.
