Touching message of greetings from Bishop Trieste to all mothers

TRIESTE, 08 MAY – A touching and affectionate message was sent by the bishop of Trieste, Enrico Trevisi, to all mothers on the occasion of Mother’s Day, Sunday 12 May. In a long letter Msgr. Trevisi thinks of new mothers – “with the apprehensions that pass through you in your thoughts, feelings, choices” – of “mothers with their child who is growing up and experiencing the desire for his first experiences, his first detachments”, but also for “mothers with children who have taken their own dizzying paths and bear the scars, not always well healed”, to those “with children in difficulty” because they are disabled or fragile, and simply to “ageing mothers”, in the hope that may they “always enjoy the gratitude of their children”. The bishop underlines the “desire for motherhood that often wakes up late, or is realized late because for many women life is more complicated” and that which “sometimes is not realized and which causes suffering”. Of course, the mission of these women “is exhilarating” but, since “not everything is in your power” mothers, “entrust your children to God. And pray with them, so that they experience a mystery of life in which they cannot never feel alone or abandoned.” (HANDLE).
