The figures speak for themselves and in one year the positive trend in the income statement also confirms the encouraging state of health of Air Campania, the regional road transport company: a sector which, unfortunately, continues to record failures in other areas. QFourteen million tickets sold, 40% more than the previous year, and an operating profit of almost 840 thousand euros: these are the numbers from Air Campania’s 2023 budget, the company entirely owned by the Campania Region which manages road passenger transport, approved today in Avellino.
The assembly has Anthony Acconcia reconfirmed as sole director of the regional local public transport company for the three-year period 2024-2026.
«Despite the presence of endogenous and exogenous difficulties represented in particular by the high level of purchase prices of raw materials – underlined Acconcia – Air Campania recorded an operating profit of 838,640 euros. This result is the result of careful strategies and a constant commitment of all Air Campania staff in offering efficient services”.

On some routes, the demand for mobility increased

Revenue from tickets went from 10 million in 2022 to 14 in 2023, with a demand for mobility that on medium-long distances has recovered and, in some cases, exceeded the levels of 2019 (pre-Covid), while there still remains to be bridge the gap on local transport, a consequence of changing user habits.

Recruit younger staff

«We look to the future – added the sole director of Air Campania – with renewed enthusiasm, aware that we must continue to work to raise quality standards even further. Thanks to the support of the Campania Region it was it is possible to rejuvenate human capital by scrolling through the ranking of the previous competition and announcing a new call for drivers and administrators; renew the fleet, today our vehicle fleet has an average age of 9.4 years, lower than the national average; invest in digitalisation thanks to the «Intelligent Collective Transport System of Campania» project.
