Vittorio D’Alessandro won the third category institutional billiards competitions and will go to Saint Vincent to represent the provinces of Matera and Taranto at the Italian Billiards Championship.
Our Vittorio, a sports enthusiast and music lover, after a stop, took the cue again in his hand and with shots of banks and balls in the hole, he established himself in his category and will certainly be the protagonist in Valle d’Aosta, where from Monday The Italian Billiards Championship will take place from 17 June to Sunday 30 June 2024. For him, in addition to participation in the most awaited tournament of the year, also promotion to the second category.
Our young fellow citizen, athlete of the “ASD il Filotto” led by president Gaetano Vitelli, learned the news with his proverbial joy and with the cheerfulness that distinguishes him, he posted a social note which we report below:
“I finally realize one of my many secret dreams.
Thanks to the 1st place achieved in the general ranking of the 3rd categories, I will represent the provinces of Matera and Taranto at the Italian Billiards Championships which will be held in Saint-Vincent (Valle D’Aosta).
I’m honest: I started playing again about 9 months ago and I never expected such a result.
I would like to thank:
-I thank my “Il Filotto” in the people of Gaetano and Mariangela Vitelli, Michele Montemurro, Giovanni Giannone, people who are always available and super kind towards me, who make me feel good in a healthy, calm and friendly environment.
-My billiard companions (and great friends of mine) Fabio Rubino, Alberto Camardo, Donato Selvaggio, Roberto D’Onofrio, Maria Grazia Vittoriano Pellegrino Giovanni Caprara Alessandro Di Tursi Francesco Lovecchio for the countless games and laughs we had together.
-My friends who always support me in every race I face.
But the biggest thanks goes to the one who gave me the passion for this sporting discipline, who supports me (a lot) and tolerates me (a lot) more than anyone else: my father (teacher and mentor). Without his precious advice on a technical, tactical and mental level, I would never have reached this beautiful goal.
