“La Carica delle Grazielle” returns to Ferrara for the second edition on Sunday 12 May 2024 with departure scheduled for 9:00 from the headquarters of the Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura di Ferrara, at Palazzo Naselli Crispi (via Borgo Leoni 28, Ferrara).
THE SHEET by the organizers – We’re almost here! A pump up on the tyres, a bit of lubricant on the chain, a check on the bolts, a little dusting on the frame and ready to get on the saddle for the second edition of “La Carica delle Grazielle”.
On Sunday 12 May 2024, the colorful caravan of cyclists rigorously riding Graziella model bicycles will return to parade through the streets of the city and the roads of the province. Who hasn’t had one, who hasn’t “wheelied”, who hasn’t picked up friends “standing”, who hasn’t felt carefree wandering around on those small but sturdy wheels? It is precisely that sense of carefreeness that the four organizers (Marina, Silvia, Moreno and Federico) wanted to evoke and convey in this fun, noisy and colorful day, made possible thanks to the collaboration with Uisp Ferrara and the help of countless sponsors .
To celebrate Rinaldo Donzelli’s 1964 invention, which later became an icon of an era between the mid-sixties and the end of the eighties, last year’s winning format is repeated. Even in the 2024 edition there will be no shortage of: extravagant clothing, panoramas and glimpses of the area, gastronomy, music, games and entertainment.
The route will be approximately 45 kilometers between Ferrara and the province with departure scheduled for 9.00 am from Palazzo Naselli Crispi in via Borgo Leoni, headquarters of the Ferrara Plain Reclamation Consortium.
The caravan of cyclists at a “slow pace” will travel along Corso Giovecca, much of the area beneath the walls and then head towards the nineteenth-century Baura water pumping plant for the first refreshment point. Departure in the direction of the Fossadarancio Castle for a “snack” and then return to Ferrara along the Po embankment, with a stop at the F.lli Guerrini agricultural company, until reaching the garden of Palazzo Roverella where, between music and shows PoltroSax, the awards ceremony for the most deserving and extravagant participants will take place.
