Bacoli, all united for efficient local healthcare in Campania – Il Golfo 24

“We are satisfied with the success of the event. It was an important moment of discussion between professions, politics and public administrations. A necessary common starting point. The foundations have been laid to carry forward our ideas of territorial healthcare of the future. There has been a lot of discussion about how to bring physiotherapy and health professions closer to the needs of the citizen, addressing the many critical issues linked to the risk of a project of differentiated autonomy”. The President of the Interprovincial Order of Physiotherapists of Naples, Avellino, Benevento and Caserta, Dr. Paolo Esposito, expresses satisfaction for the success of the conference held in Bacoli in the Ostrichina “Scotto di Luzio” room, located in the enchanting Fusaro Bourbon Park next to the Casina Vanvitelliana, and during which there was a discussion on what future territorial healthcare should have in Campania.

Dr. Esposito

It was a meeting, moderated by Dr. Claudio Iovino, who brought regional institutional representatives, health professionals and health workers from the various local health authorities around the same table who discussed how to bring healthcare ever closer to citizens. In a room full of people, in addition to the institutional greetings, the video message from Prof. Nino Cartabellotta, President of the GIMBE Foundation and the remote intervention of Dr. Innocenti, there were many speakers who made their precious professional contribution to the debate including Dr. Rosaria Parmigiano, Director of the nursing and midwifery professions, Dr. Aniello Lanzuise, Vice President of the OPI, Dr. Silvio Colesanti, Vice President of the Order of Pharmacists of Naples, Dr. Daniele Romano, President Fish Campania, Dr. Vincenzo Primavera and Dr. Biagio Guarino. The Honorable Tommaso Pellegrino also spoke remotely and announced, for the next few days, the discussion in the Regional Council of a motion so that professionals can be accredited directly for home therapies. The Hon. Loredana Raia, vice-president of the Campania Regional Council, underlined the Region’s commitment to the issue of territorial healthcare. “The commitment of the Campania region – stated the Hon. Raia – on local healthcare and the valorisation of healthcare professions represents a priority. This morning in this important focus that you are holding here in Bacoli, I wanted to place emphasis on this issue because once again, together, we must put the value of the patient and his dignity at the centre. The health professions are complementary to the medical professions and therefore it is necessary that politics and institutions always pay particular attention”.

Esposito, Iovino and Ciarambino

For the Hon. Valeria Ciarambino, Vice President of the Campania Regional Council in minority share, we need to invest to strengthen local healthcare. “Today – underlined the Hon. Ciarambino – we are dealing with many new critical issues in the national healthcare system and with an ever-increasing reduction in resources. For this reason we need to move from the hospital to the territory, strengthening local healthcare, what is called proximity healthcare and which is able to take care of people’s health needs. And in this strengthening, health professionals must necessarily have a central role.” Doing the honors was the mayor of Bacoli Josi Gerardo Della Ragione who announced that his city will soon be equipped with a community hospital. “We are focusing a lot on public health – said Mayor Della Ragione – and soon we will have the new health district, the first time in history here in Bacoli, and for the first time we will have the Community Hospital. We are focusing on local healthcare, and we have a vision to guarantee public healthcare to as many citizens as possible throughout the municipal territory.”
