This morning, during inspections of passengers boarding from the port of Olbia – Isola Bianca, the Security agents of the Port System Authority of the Sea of Sardinia stopped a couple of Tuscan tourists, leaving for Livorno, accompanied by a substantial load of stones taken from the Fordongianus area.

The stones, around twenty, were found in the trunk of the car and immediately reported to the territorial operational section of the Customs Agency for the relevant activities and appropriate investigations relating to the real origin of the stolen goods. In fact, it cannot be ruled out that some stones, precisely because of their shape, were taken from archaeological areas.

Today is the second case of theft prevented during the year. A phenomenon which, also for the 2024 tourist season, will see the AdSP engaged in increasingly accurate checks on departing passengers and, in this case, fundamental for the protection of Sardinian heritage.
