Antonio Fagotti greets Legnano Basket for Ma.Go and a camp for teenagers

Antonio Fagottihistoric leader of the Legnano Basketballstarted a new adventure. Arrived in 2018 at Casa Knights as organizational director, he is now preparing to embrace reality MaGo Basket (in Serie C) and at the same time he started a project dear to him: “This is me”, an unprecedented life camp to support teenagers in rediscovering themselves in the delicate phase of life. Fagotti’s farewell is nothing new, the manager had already announced his intentions towards the end of the red and white championship. In recent days, however, his journey has come to fruition with the first edition of the campus aimed at boys and girls aged 12 to 20.

«After so many years in Legnano it is obvious to feel a bit of regret – says Fagotti -. But it is an inevitable goodbye. I want to start from scratch. The Ma.Go reality is very family-friendly, there you can work a lot with young people. I will have similar tasks to those I had at Casa Knights, at the same time I will be able to make my contribution to making this company grow. When I arrived in Legnano there was no commercial scheme, my figure was created precisely with me. What I liked was a sustainable red and white model. I was sorry when we found ourselves having to give up the title. Then Legnano was able to be reborn. And now the time has come for me to change».

His experience as an orphan in adolescence is today a wealth to offer to young people: «I lost my parents when I was a kid – says Fagotti -. It was an extremely difficult time. Now I find myself in a position to be able to lend a hand to kids in their growth journey. And I can do it using my experience. Adolescence represents an extremely delicate passage, in this transitional phase, young people and their families often find themselves deprived of both the adequate tools
to better manage the particular moment of growth, and of reference figures to turn to for any need. Hence the idea of starting a life camp.” The Florentine Fagotti, now from Legnano by adoption, is the co-creator of the planning of this camp, with Giuliana Radice. To participate in the project also Daniele Cassioli, Italian water skier and physiotherapist blind from birth and player Thomas Marino who played his last season at Legnano Basket. «What we aim to do is help teenagers find the tools to face everyday life, get to know each other and break out of their own shell to understand what they like and what brings happiness, until they understand that error is not an enemy that must scary but a precious ally and teacher.”
