An evening dedicated to smiles. It’s scheduled Thursday 9 May from 8pm at the Gayatri studio in via Monte Santo 33 in Monza. Special guest of the appointment, which will focus onimportance of the smile, it could only be the Moebius Syndrome Associationan association based in He bellowed, the only one present in Italy that is dedicated to children affected by the syndrome that causes paralysis of the facial muscles and, therefore, prevents them from smiling.

Founded in 2000 by Renzo De Grandi from Muggiore after the birth of his daughter Giuliaaffected by the syndrome, the association can now count on approximately 250 associated families and residents throughout Italy. Twenty years ago, in 2004, thanks to the interest of De Grandi and the Association, the first operation with an American doctor was also recorded in Italy.
«The operation took place in Parma, where the Moebius clinic was later built. In 2004 three operations were performed, including Giulia’s» recalls the father. And he continued: «In twenty years, around a hundred operations have been carried out».

Thursday evening (starting at 8pm) will retrace what the Association has done in these 24 years to underline how important the smile is. «We liked the idea of the evening with a literary philosophical approach to the smile», says De Grandi again.
The association, which obviously also includes Giulia, for whom everything was born, always organizes two events a year to promote the culture of smiling.
«The first meeting – has explained Renzo De Grandi – it always takes place in the first half of the year, so in the second half we focus on family gatherings. This year’s one will take place from 13 to 15 September in Monticelli Terme in the province of Parma, it is an important moment for the association because we do not forget to take care of the psychological aspect of patients and also of their families».
