Protection of legality in the meeting between Ragusa Police Headquarters and students

Continue the mission of the State Police through the dissemination of the principles of legality for the affirmation of the “Culture of Prevention”. Knowing and sharing the “Culture of Prevention”, this is the theme discussed at the Garibaldi theater in Modica with students from Modica schools. The event is the fifth of a cycle of meetings that took place at some theaters in the province and was an important synthesis and analysis of the positive objectives achieved during previous meetings held with school groups.

The students of the Liceo Musicale e Choreutico “G. Verga” of Modica on this occasion too, they marked the beginning and end of the event with the performance of well-known musical pieces and the national anthem.

The Police commissioner of the province of Ragusa Dr. Vincenzo Trombadore in greeting the civil, military and religious authorities and the public present, he reiterated the importance of promoting the “Culture of Prevention” among young people. The involvement and sharing of the new generations on security issues can truly make a substantial contribution to that “participatory policing” of which all citizens are an integral and active part. Also the Mayor of Modica Maria Monisteri Caschetto, in the dual role of Mayor and President of the “Garibaldi Theater Foundation”, thanked the Commissioner for the extraordinary effectiveness of the events organized with school groups also at the theatres, as moments of great cultural and pedagogical growth as they are crucial in making students perceive the presence and closeness of the institutions. The Councilors for Education Catia Pasta and for Sport Simone Digrandi representing the Mayor of Ragusa and the Mayor of Vittoria Prof. Giuseppe Aiello they applauded the “proximity” initiatives addressed by the Ragusa Police Headquarters to the students of the province and each underlined for their own area the importance of the positive effects that these initiatives have generated in terms of prevention and education of children.

Present at the event representatives of the Carabinieri, the Financial Police, the Port Authority of Pozzallo, the Director of the Provincial School Office of Ragusa Dr. Viviana Assenza who expressed his deep appreciation for the initiatives and meetings organized by the Ragusa Police Headquarters in the schools and theaters of the province, the Extraordinary Commissioner of the ASP of Ragusa Dr. Giuseppe Drago who wanted to underline the pedagogical importance of these initiatives and the ASP’s commitment to tackling degenerative social phenomena such as bullying. In this regard, he highlighted that the ASP of Ragusa is the only company in the South to have an active Anti-Bullying Clinic.

Then followed a debate, moderated by journalist Sonia Iacono, in which the Chief Commissioner Rosalba Capaccio Deputy Director of the Flying Squad and Dr. Gianluca Gennaro Chief of Staff of the Ragusa Police Headquarters, Dr. Antonio Pennisi on duty at the Cybernetic Security Operations Center – Postal Police – of Catania and Dr. Giuseppe Raffa, Pedagogist and Coordinator of the Anti-bullying Clinic of the ASP of Ragusathey discussed the theme of the day, interacting with the students of the “Galilei-Campailla” Institute, of the “G. Verga”, of the “Archimede” Institute and of the “Principi Grimaldi” Institute of Modica who also asked them numerous questions for further investigation. The topics covered were: gender discrimination, domestic violence, bullying, cyberbullying and crimes committed on the web. Social media, their correct use and how to defend yourself from illegal behavior.

Moments of energy and fun when Gianluca Venerando aka “DJ Venex” he performed on stage in one particular performance containing positive messages of inclusion against all forms of discrimination and violence. The artist, after the performance, explained to the students that you can really have fun in a healthy way, following the rules and that you can be happy without being too attentive to the judgment of others (such as likes on social media) and without following absurd trends or bad teachers who mystify reality only to amaze.
