Cremona Evening – Potholes, puddles and wild parking: the (bad) business card of Cremona at the Foro Boario

Potholes, puddles, wild parking: this is the situation of the Foro Boario parking area, the first one you encounter upon entering the city and one of the few that do not (yet) require a fee.

It is difficult to find a place early in the morning, not only due to the number of cars present but also due to the way in which they are parked, especially in the numerous spaces where there is no line on the ground and therefore the average driver feels authorized to leave the car (perhaps a bulky SUV) as he pleases. It will then be a problem for those who arrive later to find a way to fit into the little space left free or at most to go and look for another parking space (best wishes!).

But it’s not just the parking stripes that are missing or practically invisible, because even the rest of the road markings are not in good health, mostly erased by wear and evidently never renewed. Both the one inside the car park and the one at the exit, creating dangerous situations for those traveling along the cycle path which is located right on the passage of vehicles entering Via Mantova.

However, if all goes well and after a few laps you finally find a place, the advice is to be careful of potholes when you get out of the car, firstly to avoid getting hurt as some are really deep and treacherous, secondly because it’s never pleasant to end up in a puddle early in the morning.

Speaking of puddles, some are really interesting in terms of size and depth.

In short, this is the situation that those who choose to leave the car outside the center have to face every day, avoiding adding to the already significantly high traffic and smog; Furthermore, this car park is also used a lot by tourists who, directly from the motorway, reach Cremona for events in the centre, so it is certainly not a good business card. A shame.
