CIVITAVECCHIA – On Wednesday 15 May 2024, at the Cassa di Risparmio di Civitavecchia Foundation, the book “The Apollo Helios of Civitavecchia will be presented. The image of the Colossus of Rhodes and the National Archaeological Museum of Civitavecchia” by Lara Anniboletti, Director of the National Archaeological Museum of Civitavecchia (Regional Directorate of Museums of Lazio – Ministry of Culture).
A press conference will be held at 5pm, followed by the presentation during which, in addition to the author Lara Anniboletti, Gabriella Sarracco (President of the Cariciv Foundation), Alessandro Mandolesi (archaeologist, SABAP Rome) and Carlo Casi (archaeologist and director of Antiqua Res Edizioni) will speak. , who will present the new series, the volumes dedicated to the Museum and will illustrate the announcement that allowed the publication of the volume.
The book, the first of a series that will constitute the series of Notebooks of the National Archaeological Museum of Civitavecchia, has as its protagonist the statue of Apollo Helios which is part of the museum collection, believed to be a Roman copy of the Colossus of Rhodes by Charetes of Lindos , one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
The volume is financed by the Cassa di Risparmio di Civitavecchia Foundation and is published by Antiqua Res Edizioni.
