On 18 May, a series of initiatives proposed by the Valle d’Aosta Beekeeping Consortium and the regional administration
World Bee Day is celebrated on Saturday 18 May and for the Aosta Valley – a region that has six hundred beekeepers and more than nine thousand hives – this day will be a new opportunity to introduce the world of beekeeping and honey to the general public. The Aosta Valley Beekeeping Consortium and the regional administration have organized some initiatives to be held in Châtillon and Fénis aimed at adults and children.
In Châtillon the program includes guided visits to the Honey Museum with tastings of local products. From 1pm to 4pm, in Piazza Volontari del Sangue, children will be able to try their hand at a workshop for creating “bombs” of honey flower seeds for public green areas.
Also in the afternoon, from 2.30pm to 5.30pm, families and children will be able to take part in further recreational and educational activities in the Tzanté de Bouva area of Fénis. Following this, the expert Lucia Piana will propose a guided tasting of some honeys from the Aosta Valley. At the end, an aperitif will be offered (by reservation) with local products paired with Aosta Valley honeys.
